Online Tutoring

If one called last 50 year an era of technological advancement and of convenience then I do not think that it is wrong. So much development and advancement have taken place until today that in comparison to 1960 today India looks completely a different world. One of the epitomes of this is a Field of Tutoring.

Tutoring in the literal sense is a service that provides expertise, experience, and encouragement to a student. A tutor works, however, are not of providing "answers," but rather of assisting in problem-solving, in getting answers. The Internet brought a revolution in this field by creating an online platform which is known as online tutoring. This development has completely changed the scenario and places both tutor and a student in a soothing situation especially for youngsters who have acquaintances with computers.

The most obvious advantage to tutor is that they can work comfortably from wherever they want. With a computer and an internet connection, they can connect with students and provide the much-needed help. In fact, Skype, video chatting, usage of the virtual whiteboard and other application made this easier to do. It is the major drawback of in-person tutoring where either student or teacher required to travel and in some cases traveling itself might be very exhausting that severely affects efficiency level of a person.  This also offers the tutor with the opportunity to set their own schedule and because of the time saved in traveling they can also schedule back to back timings even if students belong to different locations.

In fact, online tutoring has broken up a major hurdle of geographical constraint. Now neither student nor teachers require limiting themselves to the specific boundary. This is especially advantageous for teachers who reside in areas where their service aren’t in great demand. For there might be other places where their services are of immense importance. Same is also true for students. Since there is no need to spent on traveling and fuel it greatly reduces cost which sometimes trickles down to students also.

Another benefit is a wide range of teachers that are available to a student to choose from. The broader selection offers the benefit of working with multiple tutors who specialize in different areas. Now a student need not require praying to get lucky enough to find a single tutor who meets his or her criterion.  Moreover, it also provides an option for the teacher as well as for students to save lectures for future references.

However, unfortunately, online tutoring despite its peachy vantage currently not able to touch lives of everyone in India. Even if we left less educated person then also only a little percentage of the population is reaping its benefit and the major chunk is deprived of this. It is so because still many of us are not well habitual of this technology and in many parts of India internet connectivity is poor and many can’t afford to buy laptops. Besides this with online tutoring, there is always a possibility for technical difficulties such as microphone failure and a tutor doesn’t want to be working through the issue of a web camera not working during the valuable time that a student needs to be tutored.

In sum up, it can be said that online tutoring changes the lives of lots of people but still it requires to touch the horizon of many.  In spite of this it’s a really efficient tool in the world of education and in coming years its popularity will surely heighten.
